More to come:
The Epps Field is a dedicated open space supporting rural conservation amongst a mix of rural-commercial expansion, with adjacent Forest Management efforts in progress. Ongoing improvements include:
- Fencing off sections of the field for agricultural purposes, including recreational and livestock grazing, etc.
- Securing the perimeter of Evergreen and Sugar Maple trees and shrubs for breaks, privacy and aesthetics.
- Developing walking trails across the fields and within the adjacent wooded areas bordering the Cathance River.
- Expanding the access road and parking area, connecting walking trails and agricultural resources.
- Maintaining ongoing efforts to remove invasive plant species introduced by the DoT and other sources.
